Another lawsuit has been filed over fluoride being added to local water supplies.
Last week, activists filed suit in Clallam County Superior Court aimed at stopping the cities of Port Angeles and Forks from adding fluoride.
Protect the Peninsula’s Future and Clallam County Citizens for Safe Drinking Water say the addition of fluoride doesn’t meet state criteria for drinking water. The suit claims the type of fluoride being used has not been officially approved by the state for that type of use.
The group filed once before on a similar lawsuit that fluoride didn’t meet federal requirements.
Port Angeles began adding fluoride to the water system in 2006. Forks has had fluoride in its water for more than 50 years.
