Archbishop of Seattle to visit Forks

Will dedicate housing Catholic Housing Services complex

The Most Reverend J. Peter Sartain, Archbishop of Seattle is scheduled to be in Forks on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8.  

The Archbishop plans to preside as celebrant of three Masses at St. Anne Parish in Forks and one Mass at St. Thomas in Clallam Bay. The Archbishop will celebrate his first Mass in Forks at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Following Mass, there will be a blessing of the Rectory at St. Anne. 

On Sunday after the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Anne’s, the Archbishop and others will process over to Catherine of Siena Village for a blessing rite for the property and its residents. 

After the Mass and blessing rite, Archbishop Sartain will travel to Clallam Bay and serve as celebrant at the 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Thomas.  

Catherine of Siena Village was developed by Catholic Housing Services of Western Washington in collaboration with Peninsula Housing Authority and West End Outreach Services, a Division of Forks Community Hospital. It is located along Bogachiel Way across from Forks Community Hospital,  

Construction was completed on the project early this spring. The property provides 30 affordable housing units. Families and individuals are now living in the units.

The archbishop will then return to Forks to serve as celebrant for a final time at the 5:30 pm Spanish Mass, again at St. Anne.
