Washington State Patrol is reporting that at around 8:58 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, a vehicle, a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, was reported stolen from Port Angeles. At about 9:28 p.m., the stolen vehicle was heading southbound on Highway 101 when it left the roadway around MP 202, 10 miles North of Forks.
At that same time a 2001 Ford Ranger, driven by Carrie Jordan, of Forks, stopped to render assistance to the driver of the vehicle that wrecked. WSP shared that the driver of the stolen Sebring, Skyler W. Vestal, age 30, of Port Angeles then stole the vehicle of the good Samaritan and headed south.
Law enforcement was able to stop the second stolen vehicle at MP 193, Hwy 101, and Vestal was taken into custody without incident.
Jordan was reported not injured and Vestal was booked and is being charged with taking a motor vehicle without permission 2nd, DUI, and driving while suspended 3rd.
