The Clallam County auditor’s office mailed out 46,647 ballots to registered voters last week for the Nov. 5 general election.
Key races for West End voters include the Forks mayoral race between incumbent Bryan Monohon and challenger Janet Hughes and the race between Colleen McAleer and Del DelaBarre for the District 1 seat on the Port of Port Angeles Commission.
The port is also running a pair of measures that would change the commission make-up.
One would increase the number of port commissioners from three to five. The other would reduce the length of the terms of port commissioners from six years to four.
John Calhoun, who represents the West End on the port commission, told the Forum recently he was in favor of both measures. He said the five-member board would better guarantee West End representation.
The three commissioners cost the port about $42,000 in 2012. More commissioners would also require more elections. Last year, the port paid $29,000 in election costs.
Several other school board and city council seats are also listed on the ballot.
Ballots must be returned to the auditor’s office with a postmark no later than Nov. 5.
