Warren and Donna Blakeslee recently took over ownership of the former Mill Creek Bar & Grill at 1222 S. Forks Ave.

They celebrated with a grand opening party for the now-named Blakeslee Bar & Grill — BBG for those in the know — last week.

The Blakeslees plan relatively few changes, but said they have worked to improve the joint’s food offerings.

“We want it to be the place people know for fast, good food,” Warren said.

Donna worked at Mill Creek for several years before deciding to take over.

She said they plan to continue the bar’s pub food palate, especially its Taco Tuesdays, which has drawn in big crowds for delicious discount tacos.

They also plan to feature live local music on the weekends.

“It’s going to be a great, fun place to come for date night,” Donna said.

The bar used to be a feed store and was a day care before being turned into the Mill Creek Bar & Grill.

Warren said legend has it the building was once struck by a helicopter which took off from nearby Forks Airport without a pilot in the 1980s.
