Congratulations to Kalaloch Lodge’s sous chef Zackary McLaughlin and prep line cook Dustin Dedman for their Sweet Sweep at the Feb. 27 Chocolate on the Beach Festival chocolate competition in Ocean Shores.
In the Professional Baked Goods category Dedman took first with an Orange White Chocolate Bavarois Filled Eclair and McLaughlin took second with Salted Chocolate Dolce de Leche Tort.
Professional Dessert first-place honors went to McLaughlin with Chocolate Trio for Two and third place went to Dedman for his Chocolate Torte.
In the Professional Savory category McLaughlin took a first place again with Spring Time Chocolate Salad. For Professional Sweet, Dedman came in first with Salted Chocolate Truffles.
The Chocolate on the Beach Festival supports organizations and groups on the North Beach area with grants for historical, educational and community projects and has been around since 2008. Submitted Photo
