The Clallam Bay Sekiu Lions recently hosted a successful food drive. Approximately $500 in food, including canned soup and bottled juice, was donated to the Clallam Bay Food Bank by Lions members.
In addition, the club conducted a raffle in November for a Stihl MS 271 Farm Boss chainsaw. Lions sold raffle tickets for several weeks, to raise money for Community Service Projects. The club sold $2,200 in tickets, minus the cost of the chainsaw $521.27 leaving a net gain of $1,678.73.
The winner, Lourene O’Brien, was drawn on Dec. 6 at the Senior Luncheon at the Sekiu Community Center. Lions are glad to learn that Lourene, who works at the District Court 2 in Forks, will use the chainsaw, as she uses firewood as her primary heat source and does most of the work herself. Lions are grateful that many folks bought raffle tickets and supported this fundraising effort.
