It was “thumbs up” for Maureen Winn as fellow Lions recognized her for outstanding service as a Lion. She served as Zone Chair for the 2016-2017 Lions Club year, representing Lions in Quilcene, Sequim, Port Angeles, Crescent Bay, Forks and Clallam Bay Sekiu.
In this role, she traveled to each club and worked throughout the year to support the Lions in each club. Zone Chairs attend several leadership meetings throughout the year, with other Zone Chairs from District I (about 50 Clubs on Vancouver Island and the northern Olympic Peninsula).
They bring news of international events to local Lions and gather information from local Lions to impact Lions work around the globe.
Winn joined the Clallam Bay Sekiu Lions in 2011, sponsored by the late Betty Baker.
Her late husband, Jack, was a Lions Club leader in Neah Bay and Clallam Bay. She served as club secretary and president. She attended International Lions Conventions in Seattle and Honolulu, as well as annual District and Multi-District Conventions in Washington, British Columbia, and Northern Idaho.
Winn sought opportunities for advanced learning in leadership and Lions development. She is a diligent and hardworking Lion. In her term as president of Clallam Bay Sekiu Lions, Winn was energetic and enthusiastic, engaging Lions in meetings that fostered participation and fun.
Her fellow Lions heartily salute Maureen Winn. She embodies the Lions motto “We Serve!”
