The following names will be on the Clallam Conservation District 2021 board of supervisor election ballot: Lori DeLorm, Robert Majure, and Nina Sarmiento. Candidate information is available on the conservation district website at https://clallamcd.org/2021election-candidates. A space for a write-in candidate will also be on the ballot. All Clallam County registered voters are eligible to vote.
In-person voting will be from Noon – 8 p.m. on Friday, March 19, at the Armory Square Office Building, 228 W. First Street, Suite H, Port Angeles, WA.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, special precautions are being taken to make this in-person election as safe as possible, including extended voting hours, physical distancing, wearing of face masks, and sanitizing of voting equipment. Voters needing special accommodations should contact the conservation district no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17 by phoning election supervisor Judy Minnoch at 360-775-3747×4 or emailing judy.minnoch@clallamcd.org.
State law (RCW 89.08.190 and WAC 135-110) requires conservation districts hold their elections in the first quarter each year. Washington conservation districts conduct their elections independent of regular state and local elections and without the assistance from County Auditors, thus ballots are not automatically mailed out to registered voters. In lieu of in-person voting, Clallam County registered voters had an opportunity to request mail-in ballots. The deadline to request mail-in ballots was February 26, 2021.
Voters that requested mail-in ballots must return their completed ballots to the Clallam Conservation District office, 228 W. First Street, Suite H, Port Angeles, WA 98362 no later than 8 p.m. on March 19. Ballots may be returned by mail or dropped in the ballot drop box located just outside of the district office in the Armory Square Building, 228 W. First Street, Suite H, Port Angeles. In order to be counted, all ballots, including those delivered by mail, must be received at the conservation district office prior to poll closing at 8:00 p.m. on March 19, 2021.
Any voter that requested a mail-in ballot who has not received it by March 15 should contact the conservation district or plan to vote in person during the noon – 8 p.m. polling hours on the day of the election, March 19.
