So you’d like to build your own home, but you know you can’t do it alone? Not sure what to expect? Not sure you can afford it? This is your chance to find out.
Please join us on Monday, Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on North Blackberry Avenue for a potluck supper and presentation by Peninsula Housing Authority (PHA) and the USDA.
If you have already signed up for the build, please come. If you are thinking about it, or are curious as to whether or not you might qualify, please come. If you are interested in how this community build might affect Forks, please come. If you are a family or an individual with a moderate income and you are interested in building and owning a nice new home with low interest and affordable payments, this meeting is for you.
Melanie McCaughan and Annie O’Rourke will talk about the upcoming PHA build on those six lots on Maloney Lane, what it takes to qualify and what you can expect if you choose to sign up and build. Trudy Teter from USDA-Rural Development in Olympia will talk about the loan package that the United States Department of Agriculture offers in conjunction with PHA’s building programs. All three women will stay as needed to hand out applications, answer your questions, help with paperwork and the application process, and talk to interested parties. This no-pressure meeting is to inform and help.
If you can, please bring a salad, dessert or hot dish to share. Hot dish theme is chili. For more information about this meeting, please call Melanie McCaughan, 360-452-7631 Ext 822.
We look forward to seeing you on Nov.13.
