What can a small church with five acres of pristine property do to bless its community? This is what the Fork Seventh Day Adventist church pondered with their new Pastor Jay Coon in 2021.
After much prayer and discussion, the church settled on making Creation Park. Creation Park is a private park for the Forks community. With so many visitors coming through Forks it was time to provide an alternative to a public park. Creation Park provides an alternative for families looking for a quiet picturesque environment.
In 2021, the church contributed 5k and they secured a $10k grant. First, an elk fence was put up around the two-acre park as well as a ½ acre orchard was planted. The orchard features 24 fruit trees, 80 blueberry and 10 loganberry bushes. This year the church secured a $20k grant for Creation Park.
A full bathroom is now provided a beautiful footbridge over a small stream and a children’s play area. It is hoped that those who want to be a part of Creation Park can enjoy the handmade picnic tables and commercial-grade grills and fire pits.
The church has many plans for Creation Park. They look forward to having a Northwest shelter with picnic tables and a large open fireplace at one end of the shelter. The church wants those who join this private park to experience the beauty of the Creator and make special memories with their families.
The fee is only $45 a year and if you are interested in being a part of this amazing Park contact Buddy Kruger at 360-207-7231. Come make memories with your family at Creation Park in Forks Washington.
