On March 26 at 10 a.m., Washington Democrats are holding their precinct caucuses throughout the state. Democrats will gather together in the first step of choosing their delegates for the Democratic National Convention and making their preference for the next president of the United States.
Clallam County Precinct Caucuses will choose delegates to go the County Democratic Convention to be held on May 1 at Port Angeles High School. At the county convention delegates will be chosen to attend the 6th Congressional District Caucus, which will be held in Suquamish on May 21. This is where delegates will be elected to attend the National Democratic Convention in Philadelphia in July.
Beaver, Bogachiel, Quileute, Sun, Forks 301 and Forks 302 Precincts will meet in the Forks High School cafeteria. Clallam Bay Precinct will meet at the Clallam Bay Lions. Neah Bay Precinct will meet at the Makah Marina.
In order to eliminate long lines at the door, those who plan to attend should pre-register at www.demcaucus.com/register.
Clallam County Democrats will be holding trainings for the caucuses at various locations throughout the county. It is not necessary for all caucus attendees to take these trainings but you are encouraged to attend to have questions answered and help make the process run as smoothly as possible. These trainings are for everyone planning to attend the caucuses.
March 18 5-6:30 p.m. Forks Library
March 20 12-1:30 p.m. Democratic Headquarters
March 22 12-1:30 p.m. Sequim Library
In Port Angeles trainings will be held at the Democratic Headquarters, 124A First Ave. at 10:30 a.m., on March 15-17.
