Contractor Jordan Excavating is beginning construction on main storm drainage at the intersection of Division Street and Spartan Avenue under a contract with the City of Forks.
City of Forks Public Works Department Director Dave Zellar is asking the public to be patient with the road detours needed when the street is blocked off for road construction work in the coming weeks. He said there will be periodic closures of sections of Division street from the block between Spartan Ave. and Forks Ave. up to the Miller Tree Inn as new drains are installed, and following that section of the project road grading and repaving of the asphalt along Division Street.
The work is scheduled to start at the intersection and move east. “Unfortunately, there will be instances when the entire street will be closed with only resident access,” a letter from Jordan Excavating to the Forks Forum states. “As much as possible only one block of Division Street will be closed at a time to keep the work impact at a minimum, leaving as many routes around the work area as possible.”
Anyone with questions regarding the Division Street road work can call Zellar at the City of Forks, 374-5412.
