On June 21 at about 12:47 p.m. Clallam County Deputies responded to the report of a vehicle accident reported to have taken place about 6.5 miles up the Sekiu River Mainline logging Road which is accessed from Highway 112, milepost ten. A person driving along the roadway had discovered the vehicle accident and called 911 dispatchers stating the vehicle was upside down in the Sekiu River and there was someone trapped beneath the vehicle.
Deputies responded to the location of the vehicle accident and are currently in the process of investigating the cause of the crash. The vehicle was believed to be driving along the Sekiu River Road when it left the roadway and rolled into the Sekiu River.
First responders are worked to recover the deceased person from the wreckage. At this time, the cause of the accident is not yet known and the deceased has not yet been positively identified. This is a preliminary report and no further details will be given by the Clallam County Sheriff’s office until after noon tomorrow.
