Feeding 5000 offers Thanksgiving Lunch

A Thanksgiving lunch was offered at last week’s Feeding 5000 Free Lunch at the Forks Community Center. Volunteer Eugene Fraker prepared a traditional turkey dinner and all the trimmings. About 70 people stopped by to take advantage of the delicious offering.

The weekly free meal activity at the Forks Community Center on Maple Avenue welcomes everyone each Tuesday at noon. People can eat for Free or make a donation. The pandemic was financially draining on the group as people could not gather, all activity went to “to-go” and the cost of containers was huge! Recently the group was able to secure a grant from the Haller Foundation, which will help for a while. The volunteer group has also seen help in the past from many community members and the Allen Charitable Trust.

Feeding 5000 is a 501c3 Non-profit organization associated with the West Olympic Peninsula Betterment Association.
