Parents and community members are invited to attend Parent Night, Thursday Feb. 25, 6:30-8 p.m., in the Forks Elementary School gym. The main topic for the evening will be math. Principal Rob Shadle says that math is a hot topic right now. “We want to help parents understand why it is taught the way it is taught today,” Shadle said.

“It is different from how parents learned,” he added.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with desserts served, then second- and third-grade classes will perform. Principal Shadle will then speak about the how and why of today’s math teaching style. Then everyone will be encouraged to mingle about the room where teachers and students will help explain and questions may be asked.

Education specialists and bilingual help also will be available.
