The Student of the Month project is sponsored by Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest (SIORF). Students of the Month are chosen by their teachers and honored with their parents at school for consistently displaying respect and responsibility for their behavior and academic achievement and always making good choices.
Liette Fortin is 7th Grade Girl of the Month. Her father is Raymond Fortin. Her favorite subjects in school are ELA, Math and Science. Her favorite food is tacos, her favorite hobby is reading, her dream job is to become a doctor, and her goal this year is to get straight A’s in all her classes! Staff report that Liette is enthusiastic and helpful. One teacher said, “Leitte is a model example of what a Student of the Month looks like. She is always on time to class and ready with required materials, she turns work in on time, she eagerly participates in class discussions, and she exceeds expectations on all assignments.” One teacher said, “Liette has been adjusting to moving across the country; however, you would never guess. She gets along well with everyone, completes high-quality work, volunteers to answer questions, and always puts in her best effort. She is a great addition to Forks Junior High this year.” Congratulations on winning Student of the Month, Liette!
Jesus Garcia-Dominguez is 7th Grade Boy of the Month. His mother is Socorro Dominguez. His favorite subject in school is Math, his favorite food is pizza, and his dream job is to become a soccer player. Staff report that Jesus is kind, respectful, thoughtful, helpful, focused, eager to lend a hand, diligent about punctuality, and great about letting teachers know when he needs clarification or more time. He works hard, treats others with respect, pays attention in class, and actively participates in class discussions. One staff member said, “Jesus displays behavior that I wish all students would display. He is a great leader.” Another teacher said, “Jesus is a wonderful student to have in class. He comes prepared and is fueled to learn. He is such a bright student, and I cannot wait to see where he grows from here.” Congratulations on winning Student of the Month, Jesus!
Leslie Hernandez-Beltran is 8th Grade Girl of the Month. Her parents’ names are Caritina Beltran and Benigno Hernandez. Her favorite food is her mom’s chiles rellenos, her favorite classes at school are Math and Social Studies, her favorite hobby is reading, and her dream job is to be an engineer. Her goal this year is to be ready for Geometry. Staff report that Leslie is polite, organized, respectful, personable, easygoing, attentive, and helpful and friendly to staff and students. Her Science teacher said her work is immaculate! Others reported that Leslie is always trying to be the best that she can be while encouraging others to join along.” One teacher said, “Leslie is an extremely conscientious young lady who always strives to make sure her work is her best. I have never seen her refuse to help or talk to anyone. She is liked very much by her classmates in return, and I always look forward to having her in class every day.” Congratulations on winning Student of the Month, Leslie!
Kaleb Blanton is 8th Grade Boy of the Month. His parents are Tiffany and David Muckley. His favorite subjects in school are PE and Math, his favorite things to do outside of school are playing football, baseball, and the Xbox, and his favorite food is pizza. Staff report that Kaleb is polite, respectful, helpful, positive, hardworking, and responsible; he is a student-athlete who takes care of missing work quickly and is ready to learn when class starts. He always offers to help, participates in class, and has a great sense of humor. One teacher said, “Kaleb is a very hard worker who usually finishes his work early, and always tries to do a good job. He has a great sense of humor and is willing to share a joke (and gets mine which is very important). Kaleb is always respectful and positive, both to me and all staff, and to his classmates.” Congratulations on winning Student of the Month, Kaleb!
