Clallam County Sheriff’s West End Deputies, working a joint investigation with Forks Police Officers, arrested Isodoro Echeverria Morales, 41, of Forks on Friday, April 6 on the charge of Child Molestation First Degree. The charge is a first-degree felony.
Morales has been booked the into Clallam County Correctional Facility in Port Angeles.
A report from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said Morales was arrested after an investigation was made based on a referral for Child Protective Services to the Forks Police Department. The report said that two children, ages six and seven, had reported that Morales had molested them.
The report said the children were interviewed by trained forensic child interviewers from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office in which they alleged that they had been sexually molested by Morales.
Clallam County Sheriff ‘s Detectives and West End Deputies worked a joint investigation with Forks Police Department Officers and obtained a search warrant for Morales’ residence and retrieved evidence. Morales was arrested without incident, then transported and booked into Clallam County jail.
The sheriff’s report stated that a person is guilty of Child Molestation in the 1st Degree when the person has or knowingly causes another person under the age of eighteen to have sexual contact with another who is less than twelve years old and not married to the perpetrator and the perpetrator is at least thirty-six years older than the victim.
A statement regarding the case from the Sheriff’s Office said, "Child safety and welfare are a top priority to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies spend much of their time preparing for investigations involving crimes against children by training in forensic child interviewing, crime scene investigation, and other crime related topics. As a result of the time and effort spent training their deputies, the Sheriff’s Office is able to provide quality investigators to the citizens of Clallam County. The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who is aware of child abuse or anyone who is a victim of sexual assault to report the incident to their local law enforcement office."
