Washington State Patrol as well as other local aid units responded to an accident south of Forks on Friday morning a little after 7 a.m. A 1973 Kenworth log truck driven by 18 year old Marcus Ellis of Port Angeles failed to negotiate a curve at mile post 167, 23 miles south of Forks.  The vehicle was southbound on Highway 101.

The 1974 Peterbilt log trailer was damaged and the driver was uninjured when the vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in the ditch on its right side.  The cause of the accident is still under investigation and the driver was charged with Wheels off the Roadway.
