Over the past two weeks, Interwest Construction Inc. (ICI), completed the final shaping of the ditches, placing shoulder rock, installing the remaining erosion control matting, striping the roadway and spraying the turf establishment seeding along the roadway embankments at the MP 10 Canyon Creek bridge site and the MP 4.5 Engineered Log Jam (ELJs) site. This week ICI will install the guardrail and the permanent signage at the Canyon Creek bridge and continue preparing for winter shutdown of the project.
Impacts to Traffic
• The following work zones can be expected on Upper Hoh Road:
MP 4.5: The temporary traffic signals have been removed, but flaggers will be in place during the week of Oct. 18 for planting work at the Engineered Log Jams (ELJs).
MP 10: The temporary traffic signals will be removed by the end of next week.
• Travelers should expect delays at each of these locations, up to a total of 30 minutes per passage through the project corridor Mon. through Fri, 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.
• Olympic National Park and businesses along Upper Hoh Road will remain accessible at all times during construction.
