Due to the upcoming Olympic National Park road closure for emergency road repair the Peterson family has announced that they will offer free public pedestrain access to their Hoh Rainforest River Walk and Hoh River Reserve at Elk Meadows for the duration of the road construction set for Sept. 5 – Oct 5.
The Reserve and trail system is located in close proximity to ONP and at the eastern boundary of the Peterson Ranch. It is approximately 5.5 miles east of US Highway 101 on the Upper Hoh Road.
Free parking will be available at the Nikolai Memorialsite and at the hard Rain Cafe. From the parking area cross the Upper Hoh Road to the marked trail head, the trail is suitable for hikers and mountain bikes. Dogs on leash are welcome.
The Hoh Road is being closed for an emergency rip rap placement project.
