League of Women Voters to give free workshop on running for local office

The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) invites community members to a free program, “Running for Local Office,” presented by the League of Women Voters of Clallam County. The event is set for Saturday, March 29, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m., at the Forks Library, 171 S. Forks Ave.

Maren Halvorsen and Susan Fisch, members of the League of Women Voters, will provide aspiring candidates with the essential tools and knowledge needed to navigate the electoral process successfully. Participants will gain insight into the impact of local governance and the steps to apply for local office.

The presenters will discuss necessary paperwork, deadlines, and resources for candidates. The session will also explore strategies for connecting with voters through the Voter Pamphlet, community forums, and meet-and-greet events. Attendees will learn about campaigning practices and the importance of maintaining transparency throughout the election process.
