Last week Bailey Powers presented her senior project to groups of elementary school children in Forks. Several classrooms got to hear about prescription medication safety.
In an interactive presentation, students got to guess what was safe and what was not safe when it comes to medication storage and usage as well as identifying the surprising number of medications that look a lot like candy.
Bailey has been supported in her project by Chuck and Pura Carlson, owners of Chinook Pharmacy. Pura Carlson said, “Bailey has worked very hard on this project and Chinook has been instrumental in supporting her. She even had the opportunity to meet our representatives from Cardinal Health last summer in Chicago. It was an amazing chance for her and they were very impressed with her project. As professionals, we need to help spread the word and the work our local youth can do for our community as they work toward their careers and dreams.”
