Beginning Monday, Jan. 3, the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) expanded its hours. With the new hours, the Library is offering nearly the same amount of open hours as it was before the pandemic, but adjustments have been made to the exact times based on current needs and the results of a community survey conducted in the fall. Of special note, The Forks, Port Angeles and Sequim Branches will open an hour earlier at 9 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The new hours are:
Port Angeles and Sequim Branches
Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Forks Branch
Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Clallam Bay Branch
Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
In accordance with Clallam County’s Mask Mandate, all patrons age 5 and older are required to wear a mask inside NOLS buildings, regardless of their vaccination status. Patrons age 2 and older are strongly encouraged to wear a mask. Masks should be snug and fully cover nose and mouth. Exceptions will be allowed for babies under the age of 2. Limited Curbside Service or Outreach to the Homebound Service is available for patrons who are unable to wear a mask due to medical or other reasons. Free masks are available for community members who do not have a mask.
NOLS will continue to prioritize patron and staff safety during the pandemic, following public health guidelines closely. Meeting and study rooms remain unavailable, and no in-person programming currently offered, although a wide-variety of virtual and “Take and Make” programs continue each month. Additional services and programming will be rolled out carefully as local conditions, staffing and space in each library branch allows.
