LOST MUSHROOM PICKER

On 08-03-17 at about 2255 hours Deputies were dispatched to the Mary Clark Road about three and half miles south east of Highway 101, Forks, in reference to a lost mushroom picker. Long time Forks resident Allison DeMatties had been picking mushrooms near the Mary Clark Road with Forks resident Boe Baker. Baker was on scene when Deputies arrived. According to Baker, he had gone into the woods picking Chanterelle mushrooms with DeMatties sometime between 3 and 4 p.m. They separated almost immediately while picking mushrooms. Baker said he became lost and crossed the Sol Duc river before wandering out of the woods near Bear Creek.

Clallam County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue crews along with tactical tracking teams from Clallam Bay and Olympic Corrections Centers responded to the area of the Mary Clark Road and are searching the area where DeMatties reportedly entered the woods. DeMatties is fifty years of age, five feet tall and weighs approximately ninety pounds. If anyone has information as to her whereabouts call Sheriff’s Dispatch at 360-417-2459.
