Peninsula College has announced its 2013-2014 season for the Maier Hall Concert Series.
Once again, the series will offer concerts focusing on classical chamber music, with an eclectic mix of instrumentation and styles by artists from both near and far.
The season opens Oct. 15 with Scottish-born classical guitarist Paul Galbraith.
The popular Bottom Line Duo, which is being brought back by popular demand after a sold-out concert last season, will present both an afternoon and an evening concert Nov. 24. Graduates of Port Angeles High School and living in Seattle, the duo is Traci and Spenser Hoveskeland.
The Port Angeles String Quartet is reconnecting to bring a special reunion concert Jan. 4, 2014. Back together are Christopher Taber, of Victoria, British Columbia; Heather Montgomery, from Spokane; Kate Dean of Port Angeles; and Fred Thompson, from Portland, Ore.
Trio Seraphim from Seattle will conclude the season May 9, 2014, with clarinetist Jennifer Nelson, pianist Keith Ward and Spinto Soprano Christina Kowalski. The trio began in 2011 at the University of Puget Sound and has devoted itself to exploring the unique repertoire for piano, clarinet, and voice.
Subscriptions for the concert series are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.pencol.edu/cultural-events
Cost for the entire concert series is $50. Individual tickets to each concert are $15; students $5.
