Master Gardeners ready to answer your gardening questions in person!

The WSU Extension Clallam County Master Gardeners plant answer clinics are getting back to normal in Port Angeles starting on Aug. 2.

In-person plant clinics will be held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month through October.

The clinics will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Monday (except for holidays) through Oct. 18 in the lobby of the old Clallam County Courthouse, located at 223 E. 4th Street in Port Angeles. Members of the public are still welcome to submit questions online by emailing mgplantclinic.clallam@gmail.com

Plant answer clinics are offered to the public to help in answering gardening questions and solving insect and plant disease problems in home landscapes and gardens. Local Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to identify plants, address plant and pest problems, and to help clients find research-based information for their gardens.

The clinics are free and open to home gardeners. No appointments are necessary, but participants are asked to wear masks and follow social distancing recommendations while in the Clallam County Courthouse. People with questions are asked to bring in bagged samples of healthy and damaged areas of plants, including stem, leaves, flowers, fruits or cones, and living specimens of garden pests. Emails should include detailed pictures when necessary.

Clallam County Master Gardeners, a cooperative program between Washington State University and Clallam County, provides up-to-date information on sustainable gardening practices. Master Gardener volunteers also address environmental and social priorities such as water conservation, the protection of water quality, reducing the impact of invasive species and healthy living through gardening.
