Missing Totem Poles

Last Wednesday, the faint outline of one of the missing Quileute totems was visible on a small structure near Highway 101 at MP 196281, across from Gaydeski Road. This building, owned by the Quileute tribe, once held two totem poles, now reportedly stolen.

Chief Foster of the La Push Police Department announced that the totems, each valued at approximately $10,000 and crafted around 15 years ago, were discovered missing on Tuesday, October 29. The totems hold cultural and artistic significance to the Quileute people.

Currently, there are no suspects, and no witnesses have come forward.
