Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production of “Treasure Island” on Monday, Jan. 15, from 12 – 2 p.m. Those auditioning should arrive before noon and plan to stay for the full two hours (doors will open at 11:45 am). A permission/emergency contact form is required to audition-please come in to fill out the form prior to the audition. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.
Among the roles to be cast are Jim Hawkins, his mother and sisters, a rollicking Pirate Crew, Jim’s Ruffian friends, seacoast Mariners, shining Treasures, a mysterious Stranger, and cuddly Gulls. Students, grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props, and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 3:30 – 8 p.m. (except for Early Release Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2:30 -7 p.m.).
“Treasure Island” will be presented on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Forks High School Commons. Ticket prices will be $5 for adults, $4 for Seniors (55+), and Children/Students are free.
