Molly Erickson Breed to Retire

Molly Erickson Breed is retiring after 43 years with the U.S. Forest Service. She attended Peninsula College in 1973, working for the Forest Service on summer breaks. She started full time in 1974.

Molly Erickson Breed is retiring after 43 years with the U.S. Forest Service. She attended Peninsula College in 1973, working for the Forest Service on summer breaks. She started full time in 1974.

During her career Molly held a number of positions, starting in the timber department she was involved in timber cruising, sale layout and erosion control. Later she took over the recreation department which she held to the present.

She was instrumental in the construction and maintenance of the Bogachiel Trail located off Undi Road, south of Forks. She was the driving force in the construction of the steelhead rearing pond at the Snider Work Center. She also was the lead on the construction of the Mount Muller trail and horse camp. Presently, she has been working with other agencies on the Olympic Discovery Trail.

There will be a dinner for her retirement at the Snider Training Center at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. All those that worked with Molly in her career are invited to join her. Bring some photos or stories if you have them.
