Sue Baker is lending her artistic skills to a new business in her home featuring repurposed and new furniture, that is a combination of original painting, decoupage, and other details.
The new business will be located at 550 Klahndike Blvd., and in addition to furniture she will also offer unique gifts; candles, soaps, dried flower wreaths and swags, and local items she creates from nature. “I will also have a bit of antique glassware and some jewelry too,” Sue said.
Sue’s artistic activities have been a hobby in the past and now she is able to go full-time into creating.
After 20 years with the Department of Corrections, as a counselor, Sue is also interested in offering support for local women dealing with substance abuse. “I hope to offer some sort of weekly support group for up to 12 women at a time, there just isn’t anything like that offered in the community now.”
The name of Sue’s new endeavor is Garage Ermitage and is located in a renovated space just off the garage, look for the purple door at 550 Klahndike Blvd. Her opening day is Saturday, Dec. 10, and plans to be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
