By Forks Hospital Foundation
The Forks Community Garden is located behind the Bogachiel Clinic. It was originally built over 25 years ago with Community Development grant dollars and with the help of several community members and hospital staff. Since then, community members have been committed to ensuring the garden is kept up. Despite facing challenges with funding, maintenance, and deteriorating garden beds, the garden now has refurbished garden beds. These new beds will last for years, thanks to the support from local businesses and volunteers.
On behalf of the Forks Community Garden, we would like to thank the Lloyd Allen Foundation, Decker’s City Hardware, Floyd McCoy, Juan Almazan, and Forks Outfitters, as well as community members for their generous support and donations.
We also want to thank Scott Depew and the Olympic Correction Center Community Work Crew for their hard work updating the garden beds and the new sign. Without their support, the Forks Community Garden could not flourish. Currently, all the garden beds are occupied, and we are looking forward to next year. If you are interested in supporting or donating to the Forks Community Garden, or if you would like to join the Forks Hospital Foundation, please email Angelica at angelical@forkshospital.org or lacijo@forkshospital.org for further information. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
