Staff at Olympic Corrections Center responded once again this year to assist Forks Community Hospital’s Long Term Care (LTC) by donating candy for children trick or treating at the facility this Halloween.
Three years ago, staff at the nursing home had placed a notice in the Forks Forum informing the community that they were in need of assistance obtaining enough candy for their residents and staff to distribute to trick or treaters at the facility.
Each year LTC residents look forward to the costumed children passing though the facility and as a bonus parents and children have identified another safe place to visit.
For the past two years OCC has provided over 40 pounds of candy and this year collected a whopping 75 pounds surpassing previous collections by over 30 pounds.
The candy drive was organized by OCC Diversity Advisory Council.
