The Washington State Patrol reports that on Friday, Jan. 11 an injury accident occurred around 7 p.m. at the Olympic Hot Springs Rd., near the Elwha on Hwy 101 about six miles West of Port Angeles.
Thao D. Tran age 48 of Tustin, CA was driving a 2018 Toyota RAV 4 when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the road and struck a rock embankment.
Also in the vehicle were Janeth M. Ostowari age 44 also of Tustin, CA and 46-year-old Gina B. Lauritis of Corona, CA.
Tran and Ostowari were transported by aid vehicle to Olympic Medical Center Lauritis was also transported to OMC and then airlifted to Harborview.
Tran and Ostowari were both wearing seatbelts Lauritis was not. Lauritus was ejected from the vehicle.
WSP said the cause of the accident was speed too fast.
WSP also reports the vehicle was totaled and impounded by Evergreen Towing of Port Angeles, drugs or alcohol were not involved in the cause of the accident
