Three “Own Your City” town hall meetings where the public can give their input are being planned to address crime in Forks and the Forks Police Department.
The Forks Elks Lodge #2524 on Merchant Road has offered to host the meetings.
Mayor Bryon Monohon is inviting the public to attend the meetings and is supporting the meetings and their purpose. “I am already getting good feedback,” he said. “We’re perfectly positioned to move people in a positive and constructive direction.”
The series of “Own Your City” meetings, with the subtitles of Parts I, II and III, are scheduled to run from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Mondays on the following evenings: August 20, September 17 and October 15.
Each will feature a barbecue/pot luck dinner at the Forks Elks Lodge, and the public is invited to bring their favorite dish.
Bart has recently hired three new officers for the department.
