Forks, WA. – Have you wondered what it would be like to work in Natural Resources? Peninsula College will hold a Natural Resource information event on Thursday, May 23 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the college’s Forks campus located at 481 South Forks Ave.
Peninsula College offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS-T) and a nine-month Natural Resources Technician Certificate. The Natural Resources program teaches about forest and restoration ecology, habitat and fisheries management, GIS mapping, and fire science. Students learn in forests and waterways, classrooms, and labs, and through online modules and workplace internships.
At the Natural Resources Night, Program Coordinator and Instructor, Chris Morgan, will share information about the program, answer questions, and offer give demonstrations on the type of work involved in Natural Resources occupations.
“Natural Resources is a newer program offered by Peninsula College,” said Bruce Hattendorf, Vice President of Instruction. “We believe program graduates will have many opportunities to use their newly acquired skills at jobs on the North Olympic Peninsula, allowing them to stay local and support their communities.”
The event is open to the community, and anyone interested is welcome to attend.
