Peninsula College President candidate Chancellor Dr. Luke Robins from Louisiana Delta Community College addressed questions from a room full of local residents during a forum held at the Forks extension of the college on Monday, March 5. 

Louisiana Delta Community College Chancellor Dr. Luke Robins was the first of four candidates for the President’s seat at Peninsula College to address the West End community.

Peninsula College President Tom Keegan resigned his post last year and took the office of Skagit Valley College President on Friday, March 3.

Robins spoke at the Forks Extension site on Monday morning, March 5 from 11 a.m. to noon. He will also be speaking in Port Angeles.

The Peninsula College Board of Trustees is holding visits by four candidates for the post for Monday, March 5 through Thursday, March 8. The schedule includes: Dr. Cheri Jimeno, Tuesday, March 6; Dr. Ron Langrell, Wednesday, March 7; and Dr. Dorothy Duran, Thursday, March 8.

Robins has been chancellor at the Louisiana community college, since July 1, 2006. Under his leadership, the college received initial full accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 2009.

He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration: Community College Leadership Program from The University of Texas at Austin; his M.S. in English, Community College Teaching Track, from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois; and his B.A. in Christian Education from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
