The annual Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction wrapped up on Saturday night …after six days of bidding on Facebook.
Auction organizer David Hurn shared on Facebook, “I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone that helped out with this year’s auction.
We couldn’t have got it done without all the great donations from this community, the willing bidders, the school district, the volunteers, and of course the senior class of 2021! We truly appreciate all the support that this community shows year in and year out for this event. Even with the hand we were dealt for this year’s auction, this community was still able to raise over $71,000 from just our one-day auction! That’s a pretty incredible number for a pretty incredible group of seniors who have been through it all this past year. We are still receiving and counting cash donations, so we will see this number rise! Thank you once again and congratulations to this community and the senior class for another very successful.”
The Facebook auction page hosted about 1,000 bidders and just over 200 units were put up for bid. To streamline the process many items were paired up with other items. Olympic Correction Center once again donated many amazing creations.
There was also a “buy it now” feature for a number of items on Saturday.
The car donated by Wilder went down to the wire with a final bid of $3,250.
