The Quillayute Valley School District Scholarship Auction 2012 is being held in the Forks High School gyn this year. The two-day, live auction is scheduled for Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18. For years the auction was held in the Bank of America. However, the bank branch was closed in January.
An online live streaming video of the event was online in 2011 at www.qvsdauction.com. The website showed over $60,000 being raised during the auction.
Funds raised go to Forks High School graduating seniors and recent graduates. Awards pay for college costs, for vocational school fees, for tools for graduates heading off to work.
Parents of 2012 graduates will have a food concession at the event to raise funds for the senior safe night celebration held on graduation night.
