Rainfest 2024 is coming. A long-standing tradition in Forks, Rainfest started in 1991 as the vision of Marcia Bingham to bring arts and fun to the rainy month of April. This year’s festivities are also full of fun and earth-friendly arts put on by the Rainforest Council for the Arts.
Friday, April 19: A few spots are still available in a painting claaass by Carol Simons (Text 208-301-2804 to sign up) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Also on Friday night, another Open Mic from 7 p.m.– 9 p.m. All are welcome to perform.
Saturday, April 20 begins with Art & Textiles stations from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Stations include junk journaling, food stamping, rock painting, Sashiko embroidery, mendful repurposing/sewing, mulch bin liners, and flower petal art.
Also, on Saturday from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. will be Kids entertainment featuring reader’s theater and songs from the Rainforest Players and featured dances from Heather Lietzke’s dance class. Saturday ends with a musical performance featuring a Brass Quintet from 5-6 p.m.
Sunday, April 21 includes a fiber fun circle with knitting, crocheting, and spinning from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Bring your craft or enjoy watching others.
All activities are family-friendly and free to the public. All listed activities take place at the Rainforest Arts Center (RAC) at the stoplight in Forks.
