The Clallam County Republican Party will hold caucuses on Saturday, Feb. 20, beginning at 10 a.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. for registration, doors will close at 10 a.m. for the official start and the caucus should be done by 1 p.m. This is your opportunity to set the direction of the party by advocating for candidates, submitting platform amendments and resolutions and electing delegates and alternates to the county convention on March 26. A pooled caucus for the Forks area will be held at the First Baptist Church, 651 S. Forks Ave., Forks. Precincts included are Beaver 204, Bogachiel 212, Clallam Bay 215, Forks 301, Fork 302, Neah Bay 252, Quileute 262 and Sun 269.

 

Jefferson County Caucus

Jefferson County GOP will hold delegate caucuses on Feb. 20.

West Jefferson County Republicans will caucus at the Young residence, at 1623 Oil City Road, Forks, This event is for GOP voters who reside in Precincts 600 and 601.

Everyone is welcome to attend the caucus provided they sign in and agree they will not caucus for another political party. Any Republican who does not know their precinct number may go to www.wsrp.org/caucus for information and pre-registration.

Your local caucus will select delegates that will move up in a system that eventually nominates the next president. Washington GOP delegates to the National Convention will be bound by the primary vote. If no one is nominated on the first ballot, our delegates will be free to vote as they choose in an open convention.

The caucus is a community event. The first half will be a town hall meeting where attendees are welcome to discuss the proposed platform. Then, attendees will break out by precinct and choose delegates to the County Convention to be held March 19 at 2 p.m., at the Tri-Area Community Center.
