The North Olympic Library System will present Rhys Thomas’ Science Circus at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Clallam Bay School’s small gym, and again at 6 p.m. at the Forks Community Center, 91 Maple Ave. This free event is suitable for children ages 5-up, and no advance registration is required.

Thomas teaches Newtonian physics using a rare blend of science, comedy and circus arts. Students will learn about gravity through bowling ball juggling, gyroscopic stability through glass bowl spinning, centripetal force with cowboy lariats, center of balance with a six-foot tall unicycle and inertia with the old tablecloth pull.  

The Clallam Bay performance is made possible by the ongoing partnership between the North Olympic Library System and Cape Flattery School District’s COAST (Creating Opportunities for After School Thinking) program. Funded by a Department of Education 21st Century Learning Grant, COAST provides after-school enrichment activities for children.
