Clallam County Sheriff’s Office report – Friday, Oct. 19 2012

On Sunday, Oct. 14 shortly after 9:00 p.m. Clallam County Deputies responded to the report of an burglary that had been interrupted at a residence located near mile post 13 on Highway 112, in Sekiu.  

Suspects had entered the shop and outbuilding of the residence. Relatives of the homeowners arrived at the residence shortly after 9:00 p.m. and observed that the shop and outbuilding at the residence had been broken into.  The witnesses saw that some items had  been taken out of the shop and were left in the driveway at the residence.

The witnesses noticed a suspicious vehicle that was occupied by two people as it drove away from the scene. Witnesses followed the vehicle and obtained the license plate number. The vehicle information was relayed to Pencom when they called 911.  Witnesses observed stolen items being thrown from the suspect vehicle as the vehicle was being driven along Highway 112 towards Neah Bay.  

The license plate information was broadcast to the Neah Bay Police Department and the vehicle was later stopped on the Makah Indian Reservation by the Neah Bay Police. Peter Clark, (34) from Port Angeles and Susan Posner, a 24 year old of Sequim resident were  detained by the Neah Bay Police until Clallam County Deputies arrived.  

Peter Clark and Susan Posner were arrested on charges of Burglary in the Second degree and Theft second degree.   Both were transported to the Clallam County Corrections Facility in Port Angeles where they were booked into jail.  The case has been referred to the Clallam County Prosecutor for a formal charging decision.
