Quillayute Valley School District workers climbed atop the Auto Tech building on S. Forks Ave. to clear snow from the buildings meeting room roof. Crews were pictured on buildings across downtown Forks to move snow off roofs in danger of damage, perhaps collapsing due to the heavy snowfall of the past week. Clearing roofs of snow is a job usually only seen in Spokane and other Washington cities with colder weather and more snowfall than Western Washington.

Current freeze event will persist on into nighttime hours. In addition, some light snow and freezing rain is expected tonight. Temps slowly crawl above freezing beginning in the pre-dawn hours Friday, with transition to above freezing probably not complete in all areas until around 10am Friday. Look for wind and rain during the daytime hours Friday, with rain turning to showers on Friday night.
