VIOLET RICHARDSON AWARD
Are you a young woman between the ages of 14-17 who volunteers in your community or school? Do you see challenges rather than obstacles? Hope rather than despair? If you are a young woman who believes in the power of volunteer action, then you may be eligible for the Soroptimist Violet Richardson award.This award recognizes young women who make the community and the world a better place because of volunteering.
If you think you qualify for the Violet Richardson candidate, please pick up an application at the Forks Branch of Peninsula College or Forks High School Counseling Office. This is a cash award, which is divided between the recipient and her charity. This award is not the same as our FHS scholarships for senior graduates. Just complete the application and return it to Forks City Hall by Nov. 30.
LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARD
The Live Your Dream Award is a Soroptimist major project and seeks out women who are the primary financial provider for their family to obtain skills, training, and education to improve their employment and living status for the good of their family. This is a cash award, which can be used for tuition, books, childcare and/or transportation.
Applications can be picked up at Forks City Hall and returned there by the Nov. 30 deadline.
RUBY AWARD
The Soroptimist Ruby Award honors women who, through their professional or personal efforts are making extraordinary differences in the lives of women and girls.
Honorees are women who have worked to improve the lives of other women and girls. Their work has had a significant impact on other women by inspiring and encouraging them. You may nominate yourself or another woman whom you feel is deserving of this honor. Applications may be picked up at Forks City Hall. This is a cash award for the recipient and also includes the first year’s dues if she chooses to join Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest. Applications should be returned to Forks City Hall by the Nov. 30 deadline.
