It has been a crazy time …where there were no sports photos at all …and then this week so many sports photos that my head was swimming with what happened when and what day …with three Spartan teams heading into Championship games it was very exciting! and confusing …so hopefully I got something from each team and game in the paper.
Thanks to my page designer Mary for humoring me …I wanted the front page to show Spartans tearing up the field …a player from each team sort of blasting out of the front page and think she created a fun memorial to this special time for all Spartans past and present!! It is always great to be a Spartan!!
Power Pole Project
Last week interested community members/affected property owners gathered at the RAC to learn about a Clallam County PUD project for new poles and lines to maybe go underground from Bogachiel way south to the Sportsmen’s Club Road. Thanks to the PUD for taking the time to explore this possibility and also the time to share the details on what would be needed to accomplish this task …in the end, it was apparent that so many pieces of the puzzle would all have to come together that it was just too much.
Thanks to the Forks Chamber of Commerce and City of Forks for identifying property owners and organizing the effort. Thanks also to Bill Decker for his help.
After the presentation Forks Mayor Tim Fletcher shared the following statement, “We extend our thanks to the PUD and Chamber of Commerce for the amount of work devoted to exploring the possibility of moving electrical lines on Main Street underground. Unfortunately, the level of financial commitment and amount of staff time involved in management tasks, coupled with the extremely challenging timeline make this project unrealistic at this time. The City’s top priority for its resources needs to remain improvements to the Waste Water Treatment Facility and sewer system. We look forward to working with the PUD and business owners on future efforts to improve the city as resources allow.”
Fourth of July
Planning continues for the 4th in Forks. Fireworks have been ordered and the committee bumped up the budget by $4,000 this year. The show will feature 300 “designer bombardment shells!” and some bigger than in the past. The Demo-derby guys are a go and planning continues.
