Pursuant to City Resolution No. 472, the City now has available the permit applications for the future outdoor burning of storm-related debris from the winter storms of 2018 and 2019.
Individuals need to submit in advance an application for burning storm-related debris and pay the fee of ten dollars ($10) upon submission of a completed application. All applications must be submitted prior to 5 p.m. on April 15, 2019, to avoid having to pay a $75 application fee.
The City will share permit applications with Fire District No. 1 and the Olympic Clean Air Agency before issuing any permits for outdoor burning in May of 2019. Applicants agree to allow these agencies the opportunity to inspect burn piles prior to the City issuing burn permits.
The City will issue burn permits to applicants in early May with an assigned “burning period” to occur later in May or June. Individuals can only burn storm debris outdoors with a City-issued permit pursuant to City Ordinance No. 555.
Applications can be found online at www.forkswashington.org or at City Hall, 500 East Division Street.
