Guess what? I got Covid! We went to the hospital for our special Covid test that the Japanese require for anyone coming to Japan. Even Diplomats and their families have to present a negative test form. Luckily Doctor Gregory said she could fill out the form, even though it was in Japanese! My Dad works for the government and he is going to Japan to work in the Embassy and I will attend the American School in Japan. My mom is going to learn Japanese cooking and flower arranging and stuff. I was so happy we were finally on our way.
Later that day (last Wednesday) we were told I had Covid! My mommy was very mad and later that day I started showing symptoms. The next morning I felt bad. I had a sore throat and I was coughing. My mommy gave me medicine and set up my bed as a sick room. That means I got a TV, a water bottle, lots of food and soup. I also got a bell so I could call her because my throat was so sore it hurt too much to say anything. Every day since then she made me take a bath (with eucalyptus oil – it made me breath a little easier) and walk around the yard and get some fresh air.
On the third day it hurt so bad it made me cry sometimes. On the fourth day I woke up feeling a little better. I still cough and am sore, but I am still feeling better. We will have to stay in quarantine for at least five days after I am all better, but that means no school!!! (I hope Mrs. Echeida does not read the paper!) So, it also means no Japan until I can test negative again, which might be two weeks to three months! I will test every week until we get a test that says I can go to Japan. I hope it is not long, Covid is the worst.
