A man wanted on suspicion in the burglary of a Gorst gun store is being sought by local and area law enforcement agencies.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office investigators believe Patrick Weldon Nelson Jr., 40, whose last known address was in Seattle, was driving a vehicle involved in the April 9 burglary, according to a KCSO statement.

KCSO reported than 14 firearms were taken during the early morning burglary at Boerner’s Fire Arms, 4201 Highway 3. None of the guns have been recovered.

A warrant for his arrest for second-degree burglary was issued April 15 with nationwide extradition. Bail was set at $100,000.

Nelson is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 210 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

KCSO reported Nelson frequently visits Clallam and Jefferson counties, and has family in the Forks area.

Nelson is a convicted felon and is currently under supervision by the state Department of Corrections. He was last released from incarceration on Feb. 28, for violating terms of his release from prison. KCSO reported Nelson has eight felonies that include multiple narcotics charges, eluding a pursuing police vehicle, assault, and motor vehicle theft. He also has numerous driving convictions, additional drug charges and obstructing law enforcement, resisting arrest, escape and two firearms/dangerous weapons violations.
