Twilight film ‘Breaking Dawn Pt. 1’ release set for Saturday

Look for some late night Twilight fans in town Friday night

The DVD release of the blockbuster Twilight film Breaking Dawn Part 1 is scheduled for 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, just days prior to Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.

Leppell’s Flowers & Gifts – Twilight Central plans to reopen at midnight to put the DVD on sale and to serve some midnight refreshments. The store is also mailing out special DVD packages that will have the Forks post office postmark on the package and a chess piece charm included.

The DVD will also go on sale at local retail stores including Chinook Pharmacy and Forks Outfitters. Buying Twilight items like the DVD in Forks makes them special keepsakes for visiting Twilight fans.

The film is also reportedly being released on Saturday on the Internet through pay-per-view video-on-demand services.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 is Summit Entertainment’s fourth installment in their Twilight Saga series.

The film is breaking box office records and has passed $700 million in box office sales, becoming the top grossing Twilight film so far. The total should jump significantly when receipts from China and Japan are added to the total, according to reports on movie business websites.

Breaking Dawn Part 2, the fifth and final installment in the original Twilight Saga series, is scheduled for release in movie theaters on Nov. 16, just in the time for the heavily-attended holiday movie season.
